After last night’s 3-0 win by Pacos over Belenenses, the 10th round of fixtures continues today with clashes between Setubal and Olhanense, and the huge derby between Guimaraes and league leaders Braga.
Setubal vs Olhanense.
Setubal host Olhanense at the Estádio do Bonfim, hoping to record a win that will temporarily take them out of the relegation zone. Despite taking the lead at Nacional in the last game they could withstand the pressure in the second half and succumbed to a 1-2 defeat. This was the first loss for Manuel Fernandes since he took charge and after the game he stated that they lacked fitness. Defender Aurélien Collin is out.
Olhanense have gone 5 games without a win and 4 without scoring. In their last leaue outing they lost 0-1 away to Rio Ave in a game where they tried to respond after conceding but couldn’t break down the well organised opposition defence. Long-term injured forward Djalmir remains sidelined along with forward Fabio.
Selection: This is a crucial game between two sides in a similar position and with similar ambitions. I expect a game with plenty of nerves and few opportunities. UNDER 2.5 goals.
Guimaraes vs Braga.
Guimaraes host league leaders Braga at the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques, in a local derby with bitter rivalry. Paulo Sergio’s side have gone 5 games without a win and they lost 0-2 against Academica in their last outing in a game they played poorly and couldn’t respond at any stage of the match. Their organised supporters group tried to support them in training during the week. Forward Douglas is ruled out after failing to recover from injury.
After Sporting and Porto next in line were Benfica as Braga won 2-0 at home in their last league game. They look capable of big things this season as they have yet to lose and only conceded 4 goals. Domingos Paciência stated it was too early to be talking about the title in an attempt to maintain a low profile. Central defender André Leone and regular right back João Pereira are out.
Selection: This is a game with many peculiarities and bitter hatred. Braga are a better team but their two absentees could cost them dearly in defence. ΝΟ ΒΕΤ. |
