The first phase of MLS play-offs continues today with the second of four games. On Friday we had a surprise result when Salt Lake knocked out Columbus. Chicago will want to avoid the same fate today against New England but will need to reverse a 1-2 result…
Chicago Fire vs New England Revolution.
Chicago opted to play attacking football at New England and were partially rewarded by their coach’s decision. They were clearly the better side in the first half hour and created plenty of opportunities. They managed to open the scoring and then hit the woodwork. New England responded in the 40th minute to net an equalizer. After the interval they survived again as the ball hit the post and then they went on to win the game thanks to a goal in the 75th minute. Chicago will be without defender Conde, while New England may welcome back the return of forward Jankauskas and midfielder Larentowicz.
Selection: At this stage of the season the visitors haven’t been able to even get a draw away to Chicago. Something tells me they will manage that today. I suggest a draw. |
