A return to action in England’s lower league with an important derby clash that will be televised live on the box.
Wrexham - Luton
The hosts drew 1-1 away to Histon, while the visitors picked up a 1-1 away draw against Corby Town in the Cup and recorded a 3-1 home win over Bath in their last league outing. The home side were disappointing again and despite taking the lead in added time still managed to end up conceding an equalizer. They remain out of the play-off spots although their supporters are expecting promotion, which has led Saunders to come under intense scrutiny over whether he is the right man to lead the club. A win today would propel them into equal placing with the last play-off spot and such a feat may bring some respite to the criticism. Nevertheless, they do not have any absentee concerns to contend with and some decent depth in their squad. The visiting side have signed midfielder Alex Lawless, who is very good at this level of competition. They don’t have any notable absentees heading into this match apart from decent forward Morgan-Smith but he is now a reserve after falling down the pecking order behind Barnes-Homer and Crow. As the hosts need to win the game and the visitors play an all out attacking brand of football, I expect plenty of goals and will select OVER 2.5 goals. |
